Today Nathan began a new job. He is officially a Fund Analyst for Fidelity Investments. He is actually working in a job that deals with his degree and also goes along with his masters. If you want more specifics, you can ask him, but I think basically he makes sure that the stocks are trading at the right amount they say they are trading at.
It was a hard decision as far as leaving his dad's company and taking the step out into corporate America, but we felt it was what was best for us and what Nathan really wanted to do. So, after about a year or so of looking for a job and realizing he should probably go back to school and get his masters, he got hired at Fidelity.
He will be working in Lewisville for about 2 years and then moving over to Westlake (Fidelity is in the process of building more space out there).
I am really excited about this opportunity for Nathan and the possibilities it opens up for him. I have seen a very positive change in him since he found out he got the job and know he will do great!
Nathan's second semester of school starts this Thursday. He is taking one class, instead of two, he thought it would be best to take one to better focus on his new job.
Other things going on...
You know we can't go without talking about the dog.....
Toby has low thyroid, or at least we think. This all came about b/c he was constantly licking and scratching and couldn't ever really seem to not be inflamed on some part of his body. Well I was a little peeved b/c why are we paying all of this money for his allergy meds but yet still seem to be taking him to the vet every month for steroids to treat the constant itching. So, I asked the vet what is our next step, should we just take him to a Dermatologist and pay our life savings? She finally realized it could be a thyroid issue b/c sometimes a low thyroid can cause skin problems. We are waiting on the second test to confirm the first low test. And then be able to treat that with two pills a day for the rest of his life. But we don't get off that easy, those pills are then followed up each year (or maybe twice a year) with a blood test to confirm that the pills are not hurting the liver and kidneys. And we have also been a little concerned with the other back knee. He has been "favoring" it a little. The vet confirmed, that typically once you replace one knee, within the next two years you will be replacing the other knee! This dog is going to have to get a job!
