Healing

Our boy seems to be healing quite nicely. The swelling in his leg is going down and the incision seems to be closing up. We are hoping to get the sutures out on Monday (10 days post op). That would make our life much easier b/c Toby won't have to wear the muzzle and it won't matter if he licks the wound. He has been doing really well walking on the leg and it doesn't seem to bother him. We go back in 10 weeks to get x-rays to make sure the bone is healing b/c he can't get back to "normal" activity until we know the bone has healed. Not that he was that active before, but mostly keeping him from running around the yard when we let him out. We can start physical therapy once the sutures are removed and can walk him for about 5 minutes a day.

Since he isn't supposed to be running on the leg, we have to take him out on the leash to go potty, but he insists on walking himself.
